Decided to give things a go yesterday. Launched out of Finkles (which I will not do again with the water this low) and headed across the gap. Dropped the lines just outside of Prinyers and headed down the Reach. We tried various colours of TD11's, reefs and I threw a Sebile Koolie Minnow on for a bit. Nothing after about 3 hours. We spun around just after the bat Cave and headed back towards the launch. We dropped a spoon down on a rigger about 40 feet and had a hit/miss on that at about 4:00. Finally at about 4:45 the outside board fires with a Purpledescent TD11, but the fish was off within 20 seconds. Got frustrated, quit the eyes and headed to the shoals in the gap to try and find a smallie or 2. Unsuccessful on that too. Maybe next week. Tons of fish marked, many in the 40-60 ft range but they just didnt like what we were offering.

Let's see you glass half full. Fill up if it's empty.

The launch at Finkles was terrible. In order for me to get onto Roaster's boat I had to hang off the end of the dock and drop myself down until I hit the boat. Getting off the boat and back onto the dock was even more of a challenge. I had to stand on the trolling motor and basically pull myself up by holding the boats ties on the dock. We were in a 16' Legend so if you have a boat that is same size or larger your best bet is to go somewhere else. The wind had picked up as well and was blowing out of the South so it made things tough.

The Finkles ramp is getting pretty shallow. The two ladders are practically on shore now, and with a little wind and chop its tough to get at them. We had to push the boat off the trailer because I didnt want to drop off the back of the grate and get hung up in the hole tha has formed behind it. Other guys might not have an issue, a smaller boat would probably be ok getting off, but getting back on the dock could an issue. Would be nice if they added a ladder a bit father down the dock but \i doubt that will happen. I would recommend going to another launch.
