Sad stories make me cry. Left Corbyville on the 18th of October, arrived at our remote cabin on the 21st, to pouring rain, 6 days of torrential rains, impossible to hunt, water everywhere, and many games of cribbage, and a few cocktails, the snows came for 3 days, then 2 days of sun and fresh snow got out to hunt in ideal conditions, 15 below zero, saw 9 moose, 5 cows and 4 bulls, plus 2 butts going into the heavy timber. Wolves everywhere we hunted, 1 pack of 7 hung out by our cabin for three days, 1 pack of 4 not far off and many loners. The 7 pack just watched every move we made. You guessed it, we only had calf tags. With a violent storm moving in we broke camp on November 2nd, moved about 50 miles to Amesdale area in search of a big buck, stopped counting deer at 60, and only 2 that were 8 points, not interested. All in all Adventures very angry Moose Gods came down on us, and kicked our butts. Only the 2nd time in over 40 years. After 26 hours of snow and ice covered roads all the way to North Bay got home on the 4th of Nov. Can't wait to do this again next year.
