Me and The_DL fished Adolphus Reach for about 4.5 hrs, wind and waves were a bit nasty but not too bad we only had a 16ft boat and managed ok. Even saw a few flurries, tis the season. Trolled a 4 rod spread- a couple 800 reef runners back 125-200ft from the boards and a spoon on a dipsy down about 40ft and another deep diving crank on a flat line. Tough day we only had one bite and it was a bit of a surprise, a nice Rainbow, didnt weigh her but probably around 4-5 lbs. Not the target species but better than a skunk.

.Thanks for your report. My son and I decided at noon to fish for a couple hours and see if the bite had started. Trailered the boat 10 min from our place on West lake and launched in Picton. Met Grizz as he was just coming in and he reported little action :| :| . We just wanted to fish the iron works and cement plant because time was limited. Like Grizz told me, lots of bait and big marks but no takers. We did manage a 7-8lbs pike. Caught it on a chartreuse Barbie 100ft back. Water temp was a touch over 49 degrees. We trolled at 1.7 and 1.9 MPH.
Glad to read that you fished the reach with about the same luck. Nice rainbow.
I also heard a 14.2 Wallskie was caught yesterday at Thompson's in a tournament. Congratulations to the angler. Dave

Nice rainbow!! Glad to hear others are experiencing the same bite out there, they seem to have all but shut down lately.

The only thing that would have made it worse is if we didnt have the bungee cord around the one rod 8O
