Hey Everyone,

New to the forum and to the area, have read lots of good info on the site!!!! Heading down to Quinte with my brother inlaw tomorrow morning and was wondering with the current forecast (south winds 35km\h) what the conditions will be at Adolphus Reach. I have a 16 foot aluminum, but she doesn't handle big waves the best  What are some other options for areas of the Bay that would be sheltered from the south wind?

Thanks alot for the help!!!

It was a little windy at times today but I managed to tuck in along the south shore to hide form it a bit, albeit the only fish I caught was out in the middle playing with the waves, 12lber...

Its gonna be messy. As said if u hug the south wall it may be fishable. That or deep in picton bay. Look at map of the bay and you will see areas that would be protected. Theyres fish everywhere, just need hungry ones :). That said, my 17.5' deep v princecraft is stayin home cause I don't want to fight it...

The Reach was tough today, I have a 19 foot Legend and it was a battle all day long. I your headed out in a 16 foot be very careful. With a South wing you will want to tuck into the South shore. Depending on where you put in it will be tricky. Be careful.......

I would be avoiding Adolphus Reach in a 16 footer, especially if the winds hold like today (Gusts to 70KPH).

Try and find some lee out of the winds, Picton Bay can be sheltered from some winds.

From what I saw today, Adolphs Reach was unfishable today.

Take care and be safe

Well I decided to play it safe and didn't go up to Quinty today. Instead went to loughborough lake. Winds were strong today and made trolling tough. We did manage a few small mouth and lakers. Fished 10 to 20 ft depths. If you don't have riggers and want to catch some lake trout now is the time :) Next time the boat is out it will be Quinte!! Thanks again for the advise guys!

Cheers
