Hey guys just an up-date on local stocking.

Volunteers from Metro East Anglers are delivering 10,000 browns on Sunday to be stocked in Athol Bay. These fish are from the Ringwood Hatchery north of Markham and are raised by Metro East Anglers, a totally volunteer group that raise fish for Lake Ontario and the local tribs.

The stocking site is where County Road 12 makes the turn on the north shore of the Bay. Just west of the Keith MacDonald farm. Time should be between 1 and 2 pm, depending on traffic on the 401. I will be there. If you are not fishing bring the kids so they can get a look at the size of these stockers. We could use a couple guys to lend a helping hand.

If interested drop me a PM for more specific directions.

Al

The Metro East Steelheaders have done a lot of great work over the years. My hat is off to them all for their dedication. Nice to see.

This is great news.

If anyone is interested in meeting with Al and CLOSA, Much help will be needed, as the fish will be stocked by buckets and that will be allot of trips by bucket, You will get to Personally Help Stock the fish your self.

I hope to see many pictures of this event.

I found today that the number of browns to be stocked tomorrow is 10,000 not 5K like previous stated. Jeremy is correct that the trout may have to be bucket stocked because of low water levels. I am going to check distance at the stocking site tomorrow morning and we could use a few bodies, especially those that enjoy angling for those gems.

So far only Dave Ashton has volunteered his services.

Al

The MEA guys found an extra length of hose so we should be OK and just hose them into the lake.
