A Special Thank You to Mother Nature for the biggest kick in the groin I've ever recieved. Winds in the mid 30's and gusts in the mid 40's for Friday and Saturday. (according to Windfinder) Have a cottage booked for Thursday to Sunday, and have been waiting a year for this weekend. Gonna be tough in the my 16 footer. $600 to stare out the window of my cottage

Good Luck all, and be safe!!

Watch the direction of the wind, you shouldbe able to find some lee somewhere......

Picton Bay is often in the vortex and is calmer than the waters outside of it.

We had a situation a number of years ago, the wind was so bad the ferry was rocking against the sides of the dock and we were going to launch at McFarlenes, but it was so windy out there we went to Picton Harbour and fished in Picton Bay for about four hours.

We came ashore and had lunch and were going to pack it in and head home, and we thought why don't we try Picton Bay for a least an hour or two.

To make a long story short, we got four walleyes that totalled 44 lbs and a 10 lb pike in 25 minutes of fishing.

Don't throw in the towel until the weather hits.

Just my thoughts on bad weather and cancelling a fishing trip.

Thanks Dave. I'm definitely not going to cancel. Thursday looks alright. Will be looking for calm shorelines. Getting to them may be an issue though. Anyways, regardless of the weather, I'm sure we will have fun.

If it was easy, anybody could do it!!!!

If you are willing to trailer the boat, it looks like south winds so telegraph narrows may be ok, and even in the picton bay down th the ferry area. I'm not the best with safe zones in the winds but I'm sure one of the locals might be able to help you out. Good luck.

Another option that would cost you more money is try to find an open seat on a charter maybe. They tend to have the bigger safer boats. I am not a charter or guide but I wanted to give you another option. Be safe out there and good luck.
