called a fellow that lives near bayside cottages last nite
there was only 4 inches of ice the center was still open
he will call me when the ice is better
he thinks it should get better pretty quick 'cause it's been really cold up there
i'm hopping and ready to go !

Tobias,
This is Tommy D. A few months ago when we all had to log back on to this website I could not use my existing name but you know who I am.
I was thinking about asking about ice conditions myself since we're planning on a trip for the weekend of 1/29 for a few days. I'm also calling Mr. Moon for ice conditions and if any fishermen are bringing in any positive results. I called Bayview Inn and they have some open rooms for that weekend so I'll make reservations providing there is safe ice for the following weekend. Maybe we'll see you up there. Good luck to your group and be safe.

Billy,

Asking Mr. Moon about ice and fishing conditions
is not that great an idea. He is not a fisherman
himself, and even though he has hundreds of
fisherman going though his shop on a weekly
basis he does not care to much about talking
fishing.

By the 29th you will probably be able to fish anywhere
except under bridges. Being mid season the fishing
is usually slower but who knows. I'll be at Huffs on the
29th.

Even though the site is slow on fishing conditions it
is a better source than Mr. Moon any day. He's a nice
old guy but fishing is not his thing.

Reports are slow only because very few Quinte anglers
could get out due to poor ice conditions. Should pick up soon.

Fished Huff's this am 4 hours, caught 2 walleye 23.5" and 13.5". Ice is a good 6 inches and black, had Atv and hut out. Only 2 other people there.
Nasty wind from northeast and very cold, didn't see many people around Sherman's and Thompson's and a few at the church.

Go south of Napanee, turn right on the river road and follow appx. 20 km you will see long reach on the right side and there is a sign showing Huff,s road. I believe the river rd. is county rd. 9

Just got back from 4 days in Quinte.Caught some nice fish, weather was a little harsh on Sat.We fished Potters Creek(plenty of ice 6-8 inches) and the bridge at Deseronto. In close there was about 4,out deeper there was a good two inches but after the wind and current on Sat it got worse. Watch you step for old holes and wet spots even in the cold weather.Bring a float suit, most locals there are wearing them and for a good reason. I wore mine the entire time we were on the ice.As alway had a nice time and met some nice people and nice fish.
