I heard there is a decent launch on the Napanee side of the ferry. Can any confirm the status of the launch? I normally launch out of Deseronto but with the low water levels Im sure I cant launch there. Hoping to head out early sunday mornig.
Thanks Guys

People were launching thier boats from the Ferry Launch last Friday when we came across the ferry, looks like a go for sure.

Shorter ride to the 'fishing grounds' than from Desronto.

Launched there yesterday, its good ( just a 5lb Brown ). Although dock high as mentioned in a previous post.
There's only 3 truck and trailer parking spots and will fill quickly on the week-end.
Thinking of heading down for this rainy sunday too, and use the McFarland launch as back-up! :)

i launched at macfarlands yesterday and that launch works well for me as i am only running a 14 ft smokercraft. I think the launch would be ok for up to a 16, as with the low water levels it seems to have a really gradual slope in the water, and it could be tough to get a big deepv off your trailer! Just a thought for u

Good Luck

Thanks Guys. I plan to take the big boat (23' grew) so maybe I should plan for Picton. I hear parking is an issue there also!

i wouldnt launch the 23' at ferry. it will be icy and with it being a steal grate you will slide backing in for sure. Also very tough to pull out when slippery. Picton is your answer and if you get there early on sunday it prob wont be that bad. Lots of people put their boats away im sure

I was shocked last weekend at how much parking was available at Picton and I was not getting there too early at all. Doesn't mean anything for this weekend however. Maybe less boats went out because of last weekends winds?
