Its that time of the year guys........ cold cold means ice ice ice. each year this is discussed but ive yet to see it mentions so i thought id put it out there for thouse who forget or thouse who are new and dont know....... from here on out the ice is going to be a real issue for everyone so here is a few tips we all need to know and should follow.. one bring sand for the launch..... another good thing is dont be in a rush pull up let your trailer drain a bit before pulling all the way up the ramp it makes a huge differance sure it takes a little bit longer but in the long run its worth the wait just knowing you will be able to manage the back up much better when yhou arnt sliding backwords on a sheet of ice this was mentioned last year by someone and it seems many people started doing it and quite honistly it did make a huge differance so stop think about what your doing, and think about the next guy and think about the last guy in the dark who is stuck onthe ramp with no way out no help and no sand........... happy fishing guys the game is almost over lets be safe, have fun, and streatch out the season as long as we can. grizz

Excellent reminder, thanks. I have been that guy in the dark and an icy ramp in Picton Harbour, turned into a bit of a nightmare. Is salt OK as well as sand or does it taint the water?
