I am looking at purchasing a new Sylvan boat and am wondering if anyone has any feedback on this make, whether it be positive or negative.

I have a 14 foot Sylvan boat and the aluminum rotted and the rivots loosened and it leaked. I solved it with a good silicone, but I do not recomend Sylvan due to my experience. When I called Sylvan they replied that sometimes this happened and to send it to them and they would take a look at it. Not fix but look at.

I owned a Sylvan striker and it was great boat ,stable dry and wide.I sold it 2 years ago and just purchased a 2005 sylvan explorer tiller .My father inlaw owns a 1986 sylvan sportster which i have used for the last 2 seasons. In my personal opinion Sylvan makes a fantastic fishing boat and have no problems recomending them.

My last boat before the Grumman that I own now was a 16 foot Sylvan and it was a very good boat. I built the false floor in it since it was much less expensive to purchase when it was new without the floor. I used it in the U.S. and Canada, on rivers, lakes and the Bay of Quinte. It had a 35 hp tiller outboard and I work with the person that bought it and he uses it in a local river to hunt carp with the bow and he still enjoys using it. I bought it new in 1985 or so. Can't remember the exact year but it's around 20 years old. I'd recommend Sylvan to you.

I own a 2000 Sylvan 1600 Adventurer with a 90 Merc and I love the boat - extra wide 91" beam and very deep. I haven't had any issues with it and I love the ride - very stable and solid.

You'll always find problem with some boats - for example, I owned a Princecraft Super Pro and it wasn't as solid as this boat. I did pop a rivet one time and that was fixed - hull warranty on Princecraft's is excellent if you are the original owner (lifetime). And no, I don't pound boats either and that's not the reason why it failed. They are a very heavy, but well built boat. Sylvan is much lighter yet just as durable.

I love my Sylvan.......and so does my wife so that's a bonus.

Good luck with your decision :!:
