Hey everybody. Question that I hope somebody can answer. I am noticing that on some of the fish we are seeing that there are Boyle' or sore like looking marks on there fins and parts of their bodies. Are these from the mating process, stress or is it something we should be asking the ministry about?

Its a common skin disease. Its been on the fish for years and years. It doesnt actually penertrate into the muscle and the mnr says the fish is safe to eat. It exists in most high density fish populations.

It is called lymphocystis and like Dan said they say these fish are safe to eat. This disease also doesn't kill the fish like a similar disease (lymphosarcoma) does to Muskie.
