Just finished watching the 'Angler and Hunter' on CKWS and who'se the star guest on Feb 19th's show - Our Webmeister - DAN ELLIOTT.

Couldn't get the walleyes to bite BUT he sure showed the host How to catch bass. :D

What great publicity for the Bay of Quinte and for Quintefishing.com.

The host - Rick Morgan showed a lot of class when he mentioned the previous years show where they kept a couple of large fall fish and talked about the flack they received for doing that.

It was a great show (I got the VCR going before the main part of the show) so we can watch over and over again, looking for the exact location that Dan was fishing.

At the end Dan showed em how to catch a walleye ( I saw what he using for the fish - but I'll never tell). It looked like they trolling the weed line

Great effort Dan and hats off to Kevin Lavers who showed us a tip on taking out the lateral line of those walleye filets.

Here's a shot of Dan with over the slot sized fish from last year.

Image

Lets' do that again this year - Dan

Just saw the show myself. Great job Dan. Too bad about the slow walleye bite but you guys certainly got into the bass. Excellent promotion of Quintefishing.com and this great fishery. :D

Hey TV star,
Got the wake up call from Cottager to watch the show. was sawing logs still but got it on sudbury channel from the sat dish,
Glad to see we are not the only ones who may have an off day with the eyes.
But you are very photogenic and did a great job
I agree a bumper sticker would look great on that hot rod boat you drive,,lol
Ran into Kevin from Merland at the fishing show yesterday, had a nice chat
then got to watch him on TV today,,if I see him tomorrow I guess we're engaged .
Can't wait for opener in May,gave up a ticket to a dinner show with my hunny and a group of friends that weekend just to be in Quinte,
I WAS SURE I had asked her to get tickets for the second weekend,so priorities rule.
By the way , any recipes for doghouse walleye ????

Take care and keep up the good fishing.

Hey thanks everyone for the kind words. Yes it was a drag not to get the eyes going.. whats that saying about why its called fishing and not catching?? I was out the day before the show and had caught 5 eyes but they were not in the mood when we returned. The bass as you saw were mostly 2-3 lbs. We had been fishing Shermans/thompsons and when we decided to switch to bass. We threw to the trees along the reach on the east side. Before we set out Rick and I had talked about the show he had did the previous fall, when he had kept a couple big ones. He saw the critism expressed on websites (including this one) and felt the critism was valid and wanted to apologize. Stand up guy. All in all it was fun.
