I scored on this nice Tom early this morning. He was in hot pursuit of 2 hens who just happened to walk right by me...gotta love live decoys ;)

We had to get my nephew Mason out of bed for the picture, but he didn't seem to mind. He'll be in the blind with us this evening as my brother in law still has a tag to use today....I'm on my way for another after lunch.

Not a huge bird but mature with an 8" beard and 3/4 inch spurs, although he was missing one.

He's going to pair nicely with a few crappies in the fryer on Saturday night!

Good luck to those that were up at dark thirty with me today and the rest of the season.

Nice work Chris. He will eat good for sure. Good luck on tag #2. I'm headed up Fri afternoon to locate the birds and hunting Sat, sun. I'll let you know how we make out.

Let me know when you get back down, the crappies have moved into the bay and its on. Got half a dozen right of the dock yesterday and the temps are in the low 50's.

Way to go! Nothing like getting the first one right off the bat like that. Good luck with the 2nd one.
