Has anyone knows the different between Stripe Bass, Silver Bass and White Bass?

I looked at some fishing show in the State and their Stripe Bass is huge so I think they are 3 different speices. Correct me if I am wrong.

Thanks in advance!

This is perhaps a little more confusing(at least to me)....to my knowledge (and I could easily be wrong)...there is no seperate taxonomical designation for Silver Bass that is different or distinct.....some say its a Freshwater Drum....some say White Bass...and or even White Perch.....Some say seperate altogether (BUT WHERE IS THE SEPERATE TAXONOMICAL NAME?) Lake Erie....and other areas.....even Toronto have whats "referred to as Silver Bass" , but is it distincly different than a Freshwater Drum or White Bass....or even White Perch .....certainly different from a Stripped Bass.....heres the Websters definition minus a taxonomical designation....a noun meaning...1.White Bass,2.Freshwater Drum 3.White Perch.......like I said ...a little more confusing and debatable Im sure...On a side note...the MNR does not refer to Silver Bass in their species Identification .....just White Bass....and White Perch(PLUS OTHER SPECIES)(At least I dont think they do)...if you look at the 2013 MNR regulations they have a White Bass description as well but I could not get it to go on here

is Stripe Bass lives in Salt water only? I don't think they will exist in Ontario since we don't have salt water in here.

How about Wipers ?
They are "hybrid bass" a cross of White and Striper.
A few Wipers have been caught in Canadian water of Erie.

White and Silver bass are common names for the same fish.

The closest Striper fishing to Quinte is probably the Hudson River NY state. :)

I think whats confusing you is the pictures lol as crappie said striped bass live in salt water better known as stripers and they can reach 30 pounds or more where a white bass is basically a pan fish doubt you will ever find one over 3 pounds and thats a big one....... white perch looks just like a perch but its a lighter color perch to compair it would be alot like a walleye or a sauger. .......... silver bass. and white bass are same fish lol just depends on where you come from its like a canadian calles a walleye a pickerl and no other place in the world is a walleye called a pickerl lol ........... now up here in north people call a blue gill a blue gill down south people call a blue gill ...... Brim ...........

If you ever choose you want to go fishing for striped bass ( ocean fish)
Montauk, new york is a very good spot. i head there for a week in the fall evey year.
keeper size is 28" . ny state record is 76 pounds and comes from the montauk point area.
a quick google search will give you all you need to know...

Grizzly.....It was only the White Bass compared to Silver Bass thats often confused me ,caught one in Cambellford twenty years back? Considered it a White Bass, and all of a sudden the OPP came out of no where and wanted to see it , the female Officer referred to it as a Silver Bass and claimed it to be the first one that she'd ever seen.

Crappie ...Had a sea bass mounted and it was hanging on my wall for many years till it started to fall apart...."they"are a big fish

I've watched a documentary about the striper fishing in Santee Cooper and they were so successful that they were used to stock many lakes in the US. They were once being considered for Lake Ontario before they decided on Pacific Salmon. Can you imagine a fishery that was not put and take.

Well, thanks to the amazing abilities of species to adapt to their habitat, Lake O is no longer just a put an take fishery for salmon. Over 55% of the total salmon run up the north shore tribs last fall were wild fish and there were record runs. Think about it...in just over 40 years after introduction a fish that for 1000's of years was living in salt water and spawned in fresh water is now capable of living in fresh and spawning in fresh. I find that pretty amazing. Btw, there are some fantastic striped bass fisheries in some fresh water reservoirs and rivers in the US. I hear they are a fastastic fish to fight...not saying that striped bass in Lake O would've been a bad idea, wonder how big they'd get!!
