Well I just got back from Port Clinton Ohio helping some of my buddy's prefishing for the NWT tourney. I was lucky enough to make some contacts from some of the pro anglers and have gone down twice now to help prefish. That lake is amazing, full of walleye. I could not stay to fish the tourney but I would recommend it to anyone if you could. I will say that all of the anglers I met were really nice guys very freindly and informative, just really super guys.Mostly we used crawler harnesses and cranks behind boards, dipsy divers and bottom bouncers. You have to chuckle at the irony of fishing in $75 thousand dollar boats and using worms or "crawlers" as they say.

Hey Jim,
Thanks for that post. When they are running crawlers behind boards how do they deal with nuisance fish like yellow perch, white perch pecking away at the worm till there is nothing left of it?

Dan....you get as many nuisance fish as walleye, if you are not getting action you have to check as you may have something that you don't want. Most of the white bass or sheep's will pull the flag down, no issues on the bottom bouncers its pretty easy to tell. Funny thing is most of the guys use 5 or 6 foot "shorty" rods for the bottom bouncers off the back
