Great couple days on the water 35 landed 4 lost - several different schools of fish seemed to pass through the area while we were out. Wednesday (9) the fishe were in the 7-9lb range Thursday (6) 8-10lb range, Friday (7) 10-13lb range then Saturday (11) the fish dropped down to the 4-6lb range. We fished for a couple of hours Sunday morning without much success (2) smaller fish.

Everything went well until I had to leave the boat on the trailer in Ajax (bearings) and get towed home (ball joint or suspension). Looking forward to the next trip which should be Dec 14-15...water is warm enough that it should stay open.

Targa - What changed on Sunday that we couldn't find the fish? How did you make out? Dr. D took a couple for us - thanks. We've been staying at Merland park this year instead of the Tip of the Bay so we haven't had a chance to hit you up for your great tips at the dock.

I would like to make my first trip to Quinte to fish open water and wondered if you could provide more information on general area's, methods-jigging or trolling cranks? Where should a person base or launch from? Any information would be appreciated. Thanks.

Launch out of Picton...There are a copy motels right in Picton (BayView Inn and Sportsman Inn). Basically the fish in Picton bay or out in the open water by the cement plant.
