Quinte Fishing

Well I just got back from Nunavut from my Caribou / Wolf hunting trip with the HCAB crew. It was a awesome trip with many Caribou to be seen and stocked. The Caribou are the Barren Ground Caribou but definitely had 2 distinct types of racks although they are the same Caribou. One type had long beams and long tops and the other type had straight up beams and heavy mass webbing on top. I was lucky enough to take one of each. This the tall top kind.




This the second type of tops of the 2 I got with really strong bezes and terrific double shovels.







Then I was very fortunate to get a shot off at this Arctic Wolf , there was actually 5 heading our way from over a mile and they ended up coming by us at 80 yards and I shot the biggest. A real northern trophy to have that is for sure. A full body mount for this guy.



And the fishing was unreal with 5 and 6 pounders every 5 th or 6 th cast. And oh so tasty.

What a wonderful way to start the hunting season.

Congrats, awesome looking critters, was wondering how much a hunting expedition like this would cost? Also what outfitter you used, planning a trip in the near future.

Awesome trip. Well done and great pics. Talking to my friend at work today about planning a bou trip. Bucket list trip for me, I'd be interested in who the outfitter was as well. Would like to do it next fall.

Congrats on the wolf. Not many hunters come back with one of those and with that pelt the mount will look wicked

Thanks everybody , yes the Wolf was a real surprise and a rare trophy to get. The outfitter was Adventures Northwest. The only outfitter in Nunavut and the NWT is closed for Caribou so if you are thinking of doing a Caribou hunt do it soon. Do not wait it will probably be closed in the next few years in Nunavut as well.
As far as the price , check out their website for prices , we had a different price since there were 2 hunting shows being filmed. But I will tell you to budget close to 9000 which will include airfare from Toronto and back.
But like I said if you are on the fence about doing a Caribou hunt in the North , do not wait because you might be to late. It was incedible and lots of game and great part of the world to visit.
