When do the Walleye start running?

Hey guys,

Trolled hard on the Adolphus reach the past 2 days. Roughly 3km-4kms per hour, running boards with DT11's and 200ft of line out in 50-110 FOW.

Not a even a sniff. I was marking some fish anywhere between 6 and 40 ft...but who knows what they coulda been.
I know Im a little early for the migrating fish, but does anyone know when they action turns on?

We usually start trolling the reach late November and well into December weather permitting. Two years ago we were fishing the open water in mid February.
I'm sure there are allot more experienced locals on this Forum that could provide you with more details but we always do very well Late Nov and Dec.

I find they start mid to late October in Adolphus Reach

I'd try the big lake right now near any of the many shoals out there :wink:

I've been doing lots of trolling. Some results but it's hit and miss. No big ones just 4 lbs or under

Had a bit of luck today.

Trolled my ass off from prinyers cove all the way down to Keiths Shoal...and where did I catch this guy? Right in front of my place, right before I packed it in LOL!

Try slowing down a bit. We usually fish in the 1.6-2.0 range, and that was on the advice of some experienced guys. I am sure you can go more quickly and still get hits, but just passing on info that was passed on to me. And I also agree that later in October you will start seeing the first of the fish moving in.
