My buddy and I were out 2 weekends ago in Hay Bay and we didnt have much success with the walleye. We got 3 pike and a decent walleye. We were casting and retrieving meps with worm. I have been told that the fish bite better and you catch more fish if you are trolling. So I'm just wondering what should I be using to troll and what depths should I be trolling in?

Thompsons stinks, Shermans was good and I never troll, always casting.
Time on the water is where it's at.

We've had pretty good luck trolling weed line edges in 8-12 ft of water. The spinner of choice seems to be a chartreuse color with black or orange dots or reversed black with chartreuse dots. Try various colors because it changes all the time.. I troll to locate the fish then troll small patterns over the spots were they are. All trolling is under 1.8mph. Hope this helps..

I'll give these tips a shot on Saturday. What size bottom bouncers do you guys normally use?

Rule of thumb is 1 ounce/ 10 FOW for a bottom bouncer. The only problem with bottom bouncers is that if you get too close to the weeds (where the fish are  ) the bottom bouncer can be a pain in the butt. I prefer using a bullet weight tied inline which makes your rig much more weedless. With a bullet weight you will go lighter so your harness is not dragging through the bottom, but half way or closer to the top of the weeds depending on the height of the weeds.

What's a bullet weight? I've never heard of one

Here's a short video that shows you how to troll a harness with a bullet weight.
