 Post subject: Northland tackle jigs

Anyone else find the red hooks on the northland jigs very weak mine are bending way too easy

I do the same thing. I swap the original hooks to red trebles and upsize on almost all lures. #6 Gammys I think I use. I've read that in many magazines, and heard it in seminars. You can buy split ring pliers which makes changing hooks very easy.

Hahaha Tim...let me rephrase that. The pliers make changing hooks FASTER....not easier...lol

I bought mine at Gagnon's in Oshawa, but I believe Sail also has them. Mine are made by Rapala, so usually anywhere that sells Rapala knives, scales etc.... has them.

Mustad KVD's X2. I swap them out on everything, from ice fishin and especially the reef runner stickbaits get KVD'S

Can Tire has them as well and so do most sport shops. I prefer locally owned myself, check with Stacy at Pro Tackle.

Use another treble and stick the point between the rings then push it and snap the hook you intend to use or just use your nail...
