I'm having a problem marking my lure or anything on my flasher sometimes. I have to have my bottom zoom on and my gain on full (45-50) just to be able to see my lure. Narrow and wide beam. Sometimes I will lose it completely for up to 5 minutes at a time, then it will re-appear and I can turn my gain down a bit, but still high (35-40) It happens on and off all day. I typically fish between 6-30 FOW. My battery is fully charged before every outing. I do notice the issue gets worse towards the end of the day after 6 or 7 hours. I'm guessing because of low voltage on the battery. The unit is 3 or 4 years old.
Is it possible I may need a new battery??

are you fishing in current? sounds like maybe your lure is being swept out of your cone? do you notice your line off on an angle?

I agree with TheDL on those things to check. Also, is the transducer straight in the hole? That can cause the same issue. If not it may be your transducer or the unit.

I was fishing in current, and did think of that. But to completely lose the lure for 5 minutes at a time and then re-appear again for an hour?? I will check these things next time I go out. Hopefully that's what my problem is.
So is it safe to say it is not a battery issue??
If there is a problem with the transducer or the unit itself, is it garbage now or is there any kind of warranty?? Would be a shame after only 3-4 years of minimal use. I only ice fish 8-10 days in the season.
