Got out yesterday afternoon for a few hours. One Eye and 2 sheepshead, all on TDD11's over deep water. Lots of baitballs marked. Man the big sheephead fight hard and are a blast to catch. Seen a few other boats out with nets over the side.

Guess you guys were out in the afternoon, as the morning winds were fierce.

Thanks for sharing

Love my Hobie! Perfect kayak for Bay of Quinte. Amazing how paddling into 20k winds used to be so tough, and peddling a Hobie takes little effort. Catching bigger hard fighting fish on light gear in a kayak is awesome. A total rush!

Got out again this morning, fished 7am to 1pm. Much the same story as Friday. One Walleye and 2 Drum. Did lose 2 big drag pullers, so probably Drum. Reef Runners were the hot lure this morning.

How nice!

Would love to take my kayak out, and head to BOQ, and try my luck on those eyes (never caught one on kayak), though it's quite a bit of drive for me (about 2 hours) to get to BOQ. Never fished at BOQ on kayak (I usually kayak fish on Lake Simcoe), not sure where would be good for me to "launch" my kayak.

PS: Are we looking at deep water say 80 or 130 fow, or?

Fish are in 40 to 150 ft of water but you don't have to fish that deep. The crank baits I use dive between 20 and 30 ft,reef runners, tdd9,tdd11, manns stretch to name a few. I just acquired a lead core set up that I can't wait to try out to get some of my shallower lures down.

Picton Bay,McFarlands, Glenora and Prinyers are all good launches this time of the year. The winds can get pretty narley this time of the year,so you have to pick your days fishing from a yak.Cold weather safety wear highly recommended. Send me a pm if your planning a trip and I'll try to make it out with you if I'm off.

Nice set up with the tarpon.

Thank you very very much for your info and help. I do have just about everything I need on the kayak including fishfinder. Though I may not have the right lures/baits for BOQ walleyes just yet. I will send you a PM when I find the time (and day when not too windy), though usually I am only available during weekends (have to work weekdays). But, I mean but if weather really nice on a particular day during the week, and you are available too, sure, I'd be more than happy to get a "sick day":-) leave from work... Thank you again!
