Has anyone have experience fishing the deep water in Prince Edward Bay North and or east of Waupoos Island?
Close to shore there are lots of bass and perch.
Is there salmon migration? Is it home to lake trout?

Anyone?

What's it like back in there? Grass flats??

I've always wanted to explore that area but it's big water and the wind can easily whip up back in there.

You should watch Fish TV with Jeff & Ron a couple years ago and see where they were fishing with LARGE lures targeting pike and they found pike & walleyes.

Then look at Fish n Magician's pix from the the end of 2015 and into 2016.

Worth looking at that area.

Thanks All
I was really hoping that there was some salmon and trout in the area as the water is 52 ft - 100 ft deep.
There is talk of Brown Trout and Lakers beside Amhurst same basic depth.
A few years ago I counted about 80 plus pink salmon dead in South Bay in the early spring before the weeds take over, I called the MNR they had no idea?
They also had no idea there were Eagles around.
My neighbour figured there were pink salmon released from the us side.
There used to be commercial nets all over the place in Prince Edward Bay , I was told they were fishing for eel?
Sounds like it is cold, windy, almost always rough water place with nothing in the deep water 50 - 100 ft water.
So I guess we just troll close to shore for pike and bass.

There's salmon by main duck island and def lakers in that deep water in pe bay. Eastern basin is infested with them lol. I've never targeted Browns in the summer there. There are salmon that run in the tribs throughout boq in the fall so at some point they come through the gap or pe bay.

Hello Drifter,
I would welcome a chance to fish the area in the Spring.
Let me know when? Fridays and weekends are best for me.
Everything still froze up as of yesterday.
If you are trailing you can put in at Waupos Marina.
Do you plan to run your bigger boat via water or trailer it's never nice and calm there unless I'm at work?
If it get's too windy we could retreat to South and Smith bays.

Re perch fishing the only time I've fished is in the spring in and around the Waupos marina with the kids.
V.
