How should I proceed? Currently we have a Platinum 648p+ (4GB) and a Gold 14xg-2 (512Mb) and all I would like is 1' contours (SonarCharts). Its my understanding that Platinum has a different upgrade path then the other Navionics cards and card size and age play a factor.

Platinum:
I see this offer to upgrade the 648p+ (currently without SonarCharts). And when I plug in my 648p+ into chartInstaller, the card is recognized and I can purchase and upgrade online (~124$ USD ). If I upgrade a 648p+ which currently does not have SonarCharts; will it get SonarCharts as part of the upgrade?

Gold:
There is also this promo, which states half price for current owners of Gold ('Upgrade to Navionics+' in below link). When I plug this card into ChartInstaller, it is not recognized (in the header bar of the tool) and there is no upgrade available online and says to contact dealer to purchase Navionics Update card. How does this promo work? I purchase a Navionics Update card, then use the Gold to activate;

-is there additional charge after the Navionics Update card is purchased during 'activation'?
-how do I 'get the most up-to-date Navionics+ content at half price' as this link says?
- is the Gold card wiped as part of activation?

Hay Matt I have a position with Navionics as a marine specialist for eastern Ontario. I support the dealers in the GTA area. Feel free to call my cell 613-848-4213 to chat if I don't answer all your questions here.

Your best option is to call Radioworld and order the "updates" card. You will then activate it with your gold card. The updates card once activated is the same as the plus card. It will have the 1' contours your looking for. Your gold cars remains exactly the same as it is now. It is just electronically marked so it can not be used to activate a second updates card. Your can continue to use it or sell it. The updates card becomes a stand alone card.

If you update your platinum card online you should get the SonarCharts as well but it will cost you more then buying the updates card and you don't end up with a second card.
