I went for a drive today past the Deseronto boat launch. There is open water near Foresters Island. A couple guys were fishing near the point where the old boathouses are. It looks soft... Be careful out there.. I didn't go out so cant really say how thick the ice is..

Oh ya big hole opened up down west of the launch. Used the spot down at end of Mill street today to park and launch from today.

Fished off mill street yesterday aft. Spud out was on 2.5 3inch ice lots of open spots and soft ice was sketchy at best, I deff wouldn't walk out in the dark and no fish between 5 of us out there

No walleye for me but a 6.25lb northern caught relatively close to shore in 12 fow

Deseronto boat launch, heading towards the island (be cautious) ice is only 2" thick in the middle, we turned around right away and left, 7hrs of driving wasted.

That stinks but why wouldn't you go fish another safer area
