I decided to take advantage of the weather and headed north for an adventure with my trusty sidekick saddled up. I saw lots of open water on the creeks and rivers on the way up, but was quite surprised to find there was still at least 24" of ice on the lake where I was. I set up in 12' fow and didn't have long to wait until the first rainbow showed up. The old pick it up and let them chase it tactic worked and within an hour I had my limit up on top. Four were on worms and one on a minnow. Just a perfect day to be on the ice.
