Was out to fish on Saturday at 0800 with Laker John, Headed back to a new favourite spot to see what this week could bring.
The east wind wasn't very friendly and the HUGE schools of baitfish (as high as 15') surrounded by schools of walleyes .
Well, we didn't get a hit after 5 hours. Discouraging to say the least.
Headed back to Long Reach and trolled north and west of Shermans light with no results. Trolled towards Shermans and just before the shoal, Laker had a hit on the NO 9 Hot Chub Taildancer, landing a healthy 17 incher.
Trolled around that area and decided to call it a day, releasing the 17 incher and as soon as the fish was gone the rod popped again and I landed a nice 22 inch eye on the same lure. Released it also - takes the work out of fishing.
Ashore and docked at 1800 hrs, another full day on the water with some results - not quite the same as the previous week, but we landed a couple.
There were boats out, but it appeared as there were less than usual for the time period.
Still appears as the fish are biting with the results I got from the Bayview Campers. One of the campers had a personal best 5 lbs 8 oz, just north the of the Shermans light.
Good Job Roy.
Stay Tuned - back to fish next Sunday - all going well.
