Trolling reels

I am looking for a new trolling reel, the old one died. Does anyone use a Triton by Shimano? How are they?

Anyone selling a trolling reel?

If this is for trolling only pick up a line counter reel. They are amazing. I bought mine 2 years ago and works really nice. Paid about 120 for a Diawa.

The reel will be used for downrigging, heavy bottom bouncers in current and flat lining. I had heard the Triton by shimano was a good reel.
Any comments?

I have had one of these reels for years and have never had any problems. I use it for salmon (downrigging) and flatline trolling for musky and walleye. Excellent reel but would like to have linecounters for walleye.

If it is only for walleye fishing you may want to check the new Shimano Tekota 300 LC. A larger 500 LC would be better for salmon or leadcore setups. The line counter is worth the extra cash as it allows you to get bouncers, cranks etc out to the exact same distance every-time.

I use a Diawa LC27 for Walleye and I use the Diawa LC47 for Salmon, great reals for the money, I landed up 14.5 Lbs Walleye on the 27's and a 15 lbs sheepie :evil:

and up to 33 LBS Salmon on the 47's with out a hiccup :lol:

But had no luck with the Diawa accudepths, had them only one month....sold all four, they kept creeping line out on the in lines.
