With no pictures of a buck and no sign of one around, I went out the other morning anyway. Glad I did as this nice buck came in at 25 yards from nowhere. The Grim Reaper broadhead put him down within 50 yards and it was over a fast as it started.
A trip back to the house to get the argo and my bow season was wrapped up for the year.
That leaves the rifle hunt next week where we will be portaging back in three lakes with the canoe to see what's in the back woods.
After this buck, more in it just for the adventure now. Hope everyone else had a great season too.

Fantastic! Thanks for sharing.

I noticed the tree on the right side of the photo was rubbed up pretty fresh!

I also haven't found to much sign in the normal places yet. Hunted last Thursday on the first colder afternoon. Had two does work through and heard one more but that was all...

Enjoy the rifle hunt.

Thanks Eagle.
The rub was not there the morning before and my trail camera was about 10 feet away with my stand being another 10 feet back from that. I was surprised to see the rub after i got down and also that there was still not a single picture of him, even after being that close to the camera and doing that.
Just goes to show that you never know unless you go.
