After this win, in his Lund Pro-V Bass, aluminum bass boats may become that much more popular. BATMAN.

Actually, that Lund Pro-V hull nearly cost him the win...when Gussy got to his first spot the final morning, Benton had already been there for 10 minutes...and promptly landed a 4 lb. Smallie as Gussy left in search of other water. Benton's more hydrodynamic glass hull was that much faster over the 45+ minute run from the launch..

Anyway, it didnt matter in the end, and he hung on for a historic win !!

You don't spot burn people like that in pro tournaments especially if he knew that the guy had been fishing the spots the previous two days

I honestly think they do it more at that level. But yes I would have too (fished beside him) and I’m sure if Corey was in it he would have been right beside him too! Benton was up there in the standings but on that body of water had a lot of weight to make up so ya it’s not right but this is done all the time which is why you run the boat that you feel will get you there fast and safe! Jeff is to nice a guy to get confrontational but in the end carma was a bitch and the rightful deserving guy won! So happy for him.

I was able to attend the Classic in TN this year and what a great event to watch, for all of our Canadians.

Although he didn't do as well as hoped, it was very cool to see Cooper Gallant fishing this event and continue to fish the Elites. He's worked incredibly hard and deserves to be there and know he will do well.

If you see any video and pics, we were the guys with the 3 Canadian Flags over the bridge on the last day of blast-off.

If you've never attended a Classic, very well worth the drive. It's electrifying and the free stuff you get is unbelievable.

Along with Covid, here's just some of the my free stuff but I also had a Dudley rod and Costa sunglasses...

That’s so cool you got down there Paul. I too wanted to go and tried convincing my wife we could head to Nashville for a few days after to do the tourist things. I couldn’t believe the pricing of hotels in the downtown area of both Knoxville and Nashville and in the end the price tag for a week was too much for this retired guy. I think any fisherman especially if you did the tournament scene in the past should as you said experience this once in your life. I’m so mad I didn’t go as seeing one of our own win it would have been the icing on the cake! Glad you had a good time. I did watch Sunday all day and even though there wasn’t a lot of action it was still nerve racking to watch the final hour.

I was fortunate and found an Air BnB, just outside Knoxville and only 15 min to downtown or anything you wanted.

It was a private 3 bedroom house: 3 nights with early check-in, included WIFI, big tv with streaming services to watch Bass Live during the day, back enclosed deck etc for $450 all in, Canadian.

It was listed as the "Best Deal in Knoxville!" Mind you, the floors were warped, bathroom had a big hump that well, after a few, became a tripping hazard but was perfect for us and very fitting.
