Hi all

Good news is that Waupoos boat launch is open!

My friend and I went out Thursday, drove in flat calm water to timber and false ducks.
We fished very shallow and deeper up to 25 feet without seeing any fish or any bites
Water temperature of 43 seems very cold to me.

Also trolled for lakers on the deep side of timber with a couple of good bites.

Headed back towards Waupoos and fished a few spots with water temp now 48, but no luck.

Should I have done the longer run to islands further or would I have same results?

First time trying this , looking for help.

Great day being on water and also the bug hatch was happening as well.

Thanks Rob

Hi Rob I was also out there and what I can tell you is you would have likely seen similar results had you ventured further. Find 50 - 55 degree water and you will find some fish in those shallower depths. The rest are still sulking in deeper waters or are roaming that 25 - 10 feet of water and are not chasing baits yet as water is to cold. I have had some good days and some tougher days. There are fish to be found but tough to stay on them as they are on the move in search of food and warmer waters and you need to put a subtle bait close to one to get them to bite. In saying that I have had a few fish chase some baits but many more have been on slow barley moving Ned’s and drop shots. Things will heat up starting this weekend!

It has been a long cold spring. Just to support what Jignpigman said, I had a buddy out and he clobbered them but in super shallow water right up next to shore in a back bay out of the wind with warmer water.
