Took a drive this morning to check out some of the local ice fishing spots. I can report that Deseronto, at least from the town to the bridge, is open water. Huffs is open water. Sherman’s Point is a mix of very sketchy ice and open water. As another report indicated, Hay Bay is either open water or very sketchy ice all the way from Sherman’s Point to the flats at the east end.
Looking like Mother Nature is going to have to get very busy if the ice fishing season is to resume on the Bay of Quinte at this end.
Not optimistic but here’s hoping we can get back on the ice by the end of the month. Otherwise the boat is coming out early.
