Quinte Fishing

I have a Humminbird Helix 7 and Helix 9 both are Mega Live capable because they work great on my boat. My problem is I bought the Ice set up for them and the Ethernet cable Humminbird says you have to but when I hook it up I get absolutely nothing it just keeps telling me that it is unconnected. The company tells me I don't need an extra cable for power because I am hooked directly to the unit with the ethernet cable and it is supposed top power the Mega Live unit that way but why am I still getting nothing. The ice transducer works when I switch to ice fishing mode but no Mega Live. If anyone has any ideas of what the issue is I would be grateful for the help.
