TARGA17,
You had mentioned that your Vexilar unit motor was running
but you LED's were not lighting up. According to the manufacturer
this often is a symptom a bad battery. If your battery is on it's
last legs, all the charging in the world will not allow it charge fully.
The word is that if the battery is putting out 10 volts or less, the
the motor will run but light stay out. You can check the voltage
with a multimeter while the motor is running. If it reads below
10, either charge or replace the battery. You can do a quick check
on you unit if you take you 12 volt marine battery (charged of
course) and hold the leads to it terminals. Make sure you put the
red connector on battery or the unit will probably run backwords.
If the LED or LED's come on, depending on your model you will
confirm if you have a battery problem. You can get a replacement
from Vexilar or use a rechargable home alarm system battery that
you can buy from battery wholesalers. Bring you old battery into
them and they can usually match it closely.
Good luck, BATMAN
