 Post subject: Mitchell 300 Reel Repair

Does anyone know where I can get my reel repaired the bail arm wont swing back and i need a new spring however nobody seems to know where I can find someone and I hate to throw them out, I am in Whitby

I note that you are in Brooklin. Aikmans in Missassuga should be able to assist as could M. Chesterton (contact a Beleville area tackle shop and they should have his contact information) in Belleville if he is still doing reels. I have done it for many years, but alas am too far away with work to be of any assistance. If it is an older 300 here are what should be the part numbers.

81014- left hand 300
81015 right hand 301

I hope this helps. I always enjoyed doing reels, with some of the newer parts being somewhat harder to access.

I have a couple of older 300's and have picked up donor reels very cheaply at flea markets and yard sales. Doesn't hurt to have a couple spares under the workbench if your as attached to your 300 as a lot of us are
