I haven't been able to get the write up and pictures of the Mydlinski Memorial Derby held at Bayview on Aug 11th because while at the country, I'm on a LOW speed line and picture loading takes forever.

I hope to have it some time next week.

In the meantime, How's the fishing?????? Well here it is................

Out to fish with my son (Superdave) on Wed the 15th and we headed to Mallory Bay and when we arrived the WEST wind was really blowing. Handling the boat was a challenge BUT we overcame the wind and fished for about 4 hours (0900-1300)

We landed a dozen walleye,a pair of sheepshead, a rock bass and a bluegill, the fish were evenly spread using the Orange Uzick and the Uzick Swinger. The largest was 23.5" and weighed 3.5lbs. At one point we landed five fish in 20 minutes- the bite was hot.

On Thursday, the 16th, Superdave and Superdad's DAD and I hit the water and headed back to Mallory and the SOUTH wind was blowing a ton. We fished from 0915-1200. The first fish (20.5 ") came three mins after starting and the 2nd fish was five mins after that. Then the fishing slowed as we bounced around the area, dodging other boats and the weed beds.

Total for the day was six landed and released - everyone on board landed a pair of fish using the Orange Uzick and Uzick Swinger.

All fishers are reporting good catches almost everywhere in Hay Bay and surrounding areas.

I saw an 8lber last week and another fisher released one over 29" the other evening. The larger fish are there - tough to get to take... Keep trying......

Stay tuned

Can someone please tell me exactly where Mallory Bay is?

Is this the bay on the left (east) side on the way to picton? AKA "Perch Cove"?

Eyecatcer

Have a look at the map:

It's the little bay close to the 'A' in Adolphustown in the pink section of the map.

so..we are really fishing Perch Bay and not Mallory Bay? If you start at Q6 and head north, is that Perch Bay?

Starting at Red Buoy 'Q6' and heading north, you are in Mallory Bay.

David

PS: Note to Daren- got a couple off planer boards and cranks on Wed(1walleye & 1 sheepshead) Using the prescribed silver and black cranks.

Black and Silver, worked for us, didnt need to use boards, only about 30 to 40 feet behind the boat, who said Walleye were spooked by the boats :). So Mallory is the first bay south of Thompsons Point, correct?

Mallory Bay is the first bay and a large one at that. Heading from Thompson's point you will pass a large cottage that has a rocky point heading straight out towards picton. Mallory starts there....Larry
