im just looking for a saddle for a 1300 win shotgun priced them local and not bad but im always looking for a better deal i was taught that. and maybe a low power scope or red dot to

Hey Chris,
Just get the gun boared (drill and tap)and use regular mounts that you would use on any scope. I got a saddle a few years ago and the point of aim was way off every shot(6" at 100yards) It kept moving.Ok for 25-30 yards but not long distance. Just my 2 cents. Garry said OK to the use of the pool this year...YEHAAAA. No speedo's allowed especially if Grizz is around.LOL

long guns out in bewdley gun drill and tap your gun for you he's good at what he does.

Have it checked out to see if there is enough meat to drill and tap on
top of the receiver,seen lots of mounts and scopes fly off due to recoil from not enough threads on the receiver (better safe than sorry) weigh out the price of if you can driil and tap it, to buying a cantilever barrel !!!! Sheldon is right not much faith in the saddles

funny growing up in a shotgun only area my whole life it always amazed me that someone woud even use a scoped gun since the effective rage is 50 yards to begin with now with the rifeled barrles you can streatch that out to 75 yards. and if you wanna go the extra expence of sabot slugs at 12 bucks for 5 rounds you might make it out to 100 yards toss in a little Kentucky windage and dead reckoning yer talking 125 yards. I still use open sights with the remington pumpkin balls and at 50 yards outshoot most guys with scopes . like they always say usually its the jerk behind the trigger my best friend shoots a 800 dollar shot gun with a 250 dollar leapold shotgun scope and cant hit the side of the barn lol . I pound the bush and never trust a scope after a few days of hard hunting fixed iron sights just never seem to move. whats crazy is you can set the gun up with the best of the best and bottom line the ammo you use is sub standard and inconsistant by 3 or 4 inches at 50 yards streatch that out to a 100 yards and it adds up to a complete miss or wounded animal scope or no scope. put that gun in a vice. and you will see exactly what I meanyour chances of shooting a tight group are next to none expessally at 75 yards or more

hey Grizzly, try $20 for 5 rounds or more $ and accurate at 200 yards. Far reach over slugs from years gone by. you shouldn't date yourself like that....LOL.

yep shawn I hear what yer sayin. shotgun hunting sure has come a long ways lol. and to date myself a little more to this day I hunt with an old beat up mossburg 500 that came as a two barrle combo back in 1981 for the grand sum cost of $138.95 new in the box. I own brownings, remingtons and Ithacas but still grab that mossburg and its killed a ton of stuff and over 150 deer in my life ive never taken a shot over 60 yards. lol I hunt the thick stuff where the deer live ........ my weapon of choice is still the Compound Bow over anything and with the bow ive racked up deer, bear,coyotes, fox, turkeys, rabbits , squrrels, woodchucks.grouse. woodcock.opposum, coon. pretty well everything NY has to offer in the way of game at one time or another lol and I have to say my second favorite weapon of choice is the 50 Cal Hawkins muzzle loader now that ive taken deer with at 200 yards also with open sights a gun I bought in 1986 and have killed a dear with it every year ive owned it except one year

i wish you could still buy a good shotgun for under $150 today....i agree with you most shots are under a 50 yards. i've only been hunting for about 10 years know and i haven't killed any deer over 20 yards...xbow, shotgun and muzzelloader. But i do like to reach out and touch something if the opportunity arises. i was always told with age comes wisdom...u sound like you have enough knowledge to teach!
