OK the following was copy and pasted from another board I am on. called Lake Ontario United. If you wanna view the entire thread go there and register and look under fishing reports entitled Catch of a Lifetime. This is also a warning since I would have had no clue. It is also quite funny. Fair Haven is not that far from quinte by water. Some of te replies are pretty funny and there are pictures of this guy holding it.

Saturday was a "Blow Off" day at Fairahven with 6 - 8 footers. So I decided to walk the beach to see what i could find. Little did i know it would change my day. I found a Canadian Military Air to Surface "projectile". It was labled if found call Police or Military, Hazerdous Material Do Not Handle. So naturally i picked it up and brought it back to camp for a photo shoot. I then called a Coast Guard friend of mine who instructed me to call 911. i spent the next 2 hours with the State Troopers while we waited for the BOMB SQUAD to come and pick up the item. It was probably the most eventful "blow off" day i could of had and sure as hell beat doing yard work.

Here is the internet link that describes what I found:

Landshark,

The link is bad. Think you missed part of it.

I'm curious to see what he found.

Scott

Take a long walk in the county along the shore at Point Petre or Sandbanks beach toward Wellington and you might find your own. MLMs wash up all the time there from Operations out of CFB Trenton.

I spent tens years in Comox BC and it was one my duties to travel around a get rid of thes MLM's. I have heard and seen many burnt out cars picnic tables and lawn fires from people moving them and they re-ignite. The best was a RCMP cruiser

When I worked for MNR we would round them up for CFB Trenton disposal guys when we got a call from the public. That way they just had to pick them up at our office instead of combing the beach between Wellington and the Outlet to East Lake. They fully trained us first of course. During that training, I remmeber they told us the story of a police officer putting one in the trunk of a cruiser. It re-ignited causing the loss of the car! :o  Likely this was the same tale as yours.

I remember one of our fellows while fishing picking one up out of the water then calling Prescott coast guard asking them what he had and wondered if someone had lost it.

They told him to put it back in the water very carefully and leave the area.
