Just had a four day fishing trip to weslemkoon it was great,we have it every year. I would guess that bag of fish was large mouth am I right. The biggest bass from our group was four years ago it top the scales at 7.35. Great lake, every year we get fish in the 5lb range. All our fish are released to grow, and maybe some day we'll see a 10lber

dan, those would be largies.....

it's likely the best largie lake in ontario - next to those small 'hidden gems'.

I have fished that lake for many years and I've seen the pictures at the loons marina in the photo album of the big largies. I said smallies because the last few years I have been going have found some real big smallies quite consisently.

fireball, i think you'd find many who you think 'cant' catch smallies just choose not to....

cause money or not, in the end, those who fish want to fish for what is 'fun'....and light lining open water smallies with bottom rigs isnt' close to what flippin jigs in slop for heavy weights is....

that is why many guys who fish for smallies like jerk baits or spinnerbaits...at least then it brings some enjoyment back into the smallie game....

i have found many of the best largie guys can fish smallies,,,,and will if they 'have' to....

Thats your opion, i hate fishing jigs in the slop.. i love smallie fishing, i think its the greatest thing in the world... i would rather drop shot over throw a jerk bait, i just have more confindance in the drop shot now, that i have learned it better, still need to work on it, but having the proper rod so i can feel the fish/gobys nibble just gets my heart pumping..
totaly love it..

you live in a different region then me. in the kingston area, going to a meeting with a speaker, they talk about using jerk baits or smallie fishing, and out of a room full of guys, you get 2 or 3 hands go up when they ask who smallie fishes. big the largie fishing is just so good here that there is no need to spend the time on smallies..

the open showed the largie guys struggled again, smallie guys did well except deforges.. look who won ??
a smallie guy..
but i fish big water, love big water, big water = big smallie and big largies, so i got to be good at both.
