Picking up a Humminbird 787 for the front of the boat to go on the trolling motor. Looking for feedback on whether I should get the Dual Beam Plus puck or the Quadra Beam. They are about 20 dollars difference from what I've seen.

Thanks in advance,

Kevin

Get the Dual Beam...and you'll probably only use the 200kHz anyway. I only bass fish and don't see a point to having a dual or more beam unit on the trolling motor. Maybe if some of the walleye guys on here do things a little different they could chime in on this thread. I'd be interested to hear it.

I have always found that the 200kHz units worked so good there was never a reason to change frequency when on the trolling motor.

I have always found the Quad beams to give too much info and clutter up the screens in shallow water. Stick with the dual beam and you'll be all set
