Hey guys, Lawren from Radioworld responded to my question on the Radioworld Forum. If you're interested in reading it, it's under topic "humminbird 788c"

Hey guys, I was out this weekend, and it was doing the same thing. I think what is happening is when the boat is bouncing around in between 8-12 fow, the unit switches back and forth from 10' range to 20' range. If the boat is floating right at the 10' mark, it's like the unit doesn't know what range it should be in as the depth changes. (just above or below 10 fow) As soon as I get shallower, or deeper, the unit stays in the depth range where it should be.

mike....I take the unit off the boat every time I get off the water. It is set on auto. I caught that that 15 posts ago. That's kinda why it switches depth range by itself

Thanks
