Good day, I know its eye time out in the bay seen all the posts. But was wondering if any one is trout fishing out on the big lake. I know that lake trout is closed till next weekend but would a person be crazy to try and fish the big lake looking for bows, browns and smaller salmon?

You wouldn't be wasting your time. I'm going to head out from my place tomorrow to the big lake. Athol Bay. Had a fellow here last week that went out and did very well. A mixture of Bows, Browns and Lakers. Dave

where is the best place to launch from? Can I get out from wellingtion? 18 foot legend

Yes at the main launch. The docks are out at the Beach street side. The main launch is at the LCBO. Stay in middle of the channel, and trim up as you go out. It is shallow all the way out. I went and looked an hour ago. Dave
