Just watched the latest Fish-TV and saw Quinteboard member - Jeff Chisolm show the hosts of the show all about lake trout fishing.

Great show, great tips and you guys were on fire in April.

Thanks David, we surely do have some amazing fishing here in this region.
In fact, keep watching as we have filmed quite a few episodes this season right here in our own backyards. The shows will feature walleye, smallmouth and largemouth bass, and crappie fishing.

After today's day on Lake Ontario, you can also expect a Northern Pike show this season!

This fishery will never cease to amaze me!

Great show on the lakers. Those are a couple of dandy northerns as well, looking forward to that show. Congrats Jeff.

Too bad about the verticle hold on those pike though, big fish like those aren't designed to support their weight like that and it really impacts their chance of survival after release. Saw the same thing on a St. Clair muskie show that Leo, Ron and Nik did and every fish was the same verticle hold. After I saw the show I sent them an e-mail about it and a link to the muskies Canada website that demonstrates how to properly hold the fish and support its spinal structure. Got a reply from someone else that they would pass the e-mail along to the guys. I guess they didn't get the message. :roll:

Anyway great job displaying the awesome multispecies fishery we have around here, keep up the good work Jeff. Hopefully the guys will pick up some good habits from you regarding catch and release.

Dog Lake, That is an excellent point and I will make sure that we discuss this and do our best to avoid this. Thanks for mentioning it. We definitely want to do our best to respect the fisheries and promote proper handling to ensure their survival. While all of the fish appeared to swim back down quickly and healthy, we never truly know about the long term effects. At least on the show all of the fish are held horizontally with their bellies supported. It was just a couple of still photos on a couple of fish. Thanks again for bringing it to our attention.
