Well I dropped my buck 5:00 PM this evening, the day before the shot gun hunt tomorrow. I saw a little 4 pointer this morning and he was cowering around so I figured there must be a bigger one around, he wasn't much for a rack but he is a nice chunk a meat. He took about 45 minutes to work his way across my field with his nose stuck to a doe and when he got 35 yards away I pinned him and he ran about 20 yards and dropped dead.

Sweeeeeeet , nice shot on him :) congrats. The deer were on the move in the afternoon I saw 2 does and a little 8 pointer. One doe was so cautious , she paced back and forth for 15 minutes before coming in while the other doe and buck came right in. It was neat to see , I am always amazed that these big animals live around us . Congrats again , some nice eating there.

Thanks, I have been seeing them @ 4:00 PM and after 9:00 AM, My back field is a good bedding area they like to use. It is enjoyable to watch them move around, they sure sniff, look and listen constantly. We don't get too many trophy bucks around here for some reason, the odd 8 pointer once and a while. Not enough woods and plenty of hunters I guess. I heard 3 shots last night and that was it. My son is taking Friday off school and we are going to sit out and see if he can get his first buck, that 4 pointer is likely felling a little cocky now

Not at all, the spot is empty now lol. Actually I have trail cam picks of the 4 pointer standing in the same spot at 4:26 PM and a doe at 5:00 last night. My son still has a tag to fill so we will hopefully have a picture of his first on here soon.
